The Gyeongsangnam-do Office of Education is launching customized college admissions counseling by region for high school freshmen and sophomores and their parents.
The Gyeongsangnam-do Office of Education announced that it will conduct one-on-one customized college admissions counseling for freshmen, sophomores, and their parents at the three regional college admissions information centers in Changwon, Jinju, and Gimhae for five days, from the 18th to the 22nd.
A key feature of this counseling program is its enhanced accessibility, as it has expanded operations from the Gyeongnam College Admissions Information Center to include the western and eastern regions. The sessions will take place simultaneously at the Gyeongnam College Admissions Information Center within the Changwon Second Office Building, the Gyeongnam Arts Education Institute Haebom in Jinju, and the Annex of Gimhae Girls' Middle School.
The counseling is conducted in a manner that supports practical college admissions planning, involving a team of college admissions specialists composed of current teachers who have been responsible for college guidance, as well as counselors from the information centers. The one-on-one counseling, involving both students and parents, is conducted in 30-minute sessions and focuses on setting specific career paths tailored to individual circumstances.
The Gyeongnam Office of Education is launching customized college admissions counseling by expanding operations from the information centers to include the information center counselors. In particular, the program has enhanced its effectiveness by providing integrated guidance on university-specific admission characteristics, preparation strategies, and career exploration, aiming to bridge the information gap resulting from recent changes in college admission procedures. The Office of Education focused on reducing disparities in information access between regions and expanding counseling opportunities through simultaneous operation across different zones.
Even after the initial counseling period, plans are in place to provide additional counseling at each center from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekdays.
Jeong Seon-hee, Head of the Career Education Division, stated, "We are focusing on helping students make choices that align with their aptitudes and career paths amidst the changing admissions environment," adding, "We hope this customized counseling will serve as an opportunity to design a more concrete direction for their future education."
