거제식물원, 누적 관람객 300만 명 돌파

[브레이크뉴스=황민성 기자] 거제시 대표 관광지인 거제식물원이 개원 약 6년 만에 누적 관람객 300만 명을 돌파했다.

거제식물원은 지난 2020년 1월 개원 이후 정글돔과 실내정원 ‘진틀리움’, 정글타워 등을 중심으로 관광객들의 꾸준한 방문이 이어지며 지역 대표 관광명소로 자리잡고 있다. 최근에는 한국관광 100선에도 선정됐다.

거제식물원은 300만 번째 방문객에게 정글돔 연간회원증과 식물 재배기, 화분 등을 증정했으며, 전후 입장객 각 1팀에도 연간회원증과 기념품을 전달했다.

300만 번째 방문객은 연휴를 맞아 거제를 찾은 부산 거주 강설미 씨 가족으로 확인됐다. 가족들은 “뜻밖의 행운으로 잊지 못할 추억이 됐다”고 소감을 전했다.

거제식물원은 현재 5~6월 기간 정글돔 관람객을 대상으로 정글타워 이용 연계 할인 혜택도 시범 운영 중이다.

이영실 거제시농업기술센터 소장은 “관람객들의 성원 덕분에 300만 명 돌파라는 성과를 거둘 수 있었다”며 “정글돔과 체험 프로그램 등을 지속 확대해 대한민국 대표 생태관광지로 발전시켜 나가겠다”고 말했다.
