Qurient to present research results on 'mocaciclib' at ISPNO 2026

Qurient said Monday that its study on mocaciclib (Q901), a CDK7 inhibitor for pediatric brain tumors, will be presented orally at the International Symposium on Paediatric Neuro-Oncology 2026 (ISPNO 2026) next month.

The findings stem from an ongoing study on pediatric brain tumors, initiated in 2024 with researchers at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus.

The study examined medulloblastoma (MB) and atypical teratoid/rhabdoid tumors (AT/RT). Using CRISPR-Cas9 genomic analysis, CDK7 was found to regulate tumor growth in Myc-driven MB. Mocaciclib selectively inhibits CDK7 and blocks cancer cell proliferation.

Results showed mocaciclib penetrates the CNS barrier and inhibits tumor growth. It provided a survival advantage over controls and enhanced the anticancer effects of other therapies. No CNS-specific safety concerns were observed.

“This study's selection for ISPNO highlights mocaciclib’s scientific potential in high-risk pediatric brain tumors,” a Qurient official said. “With validated Myc-targeting effects, we plan to present a new therapy for pediatric brain tumor patients in future trials. We will also pursue accelerated approval and a Priority Review Voucher (PRV) for rare pediatric disease treatments.”
