The Pompidou Centre, a global symbol of contemporary art, is set to land in Yeouido, Seoul, and will officially begin welcoming visitors.

Ahead of the official opening of Pompidou Centre Hanwha this coming June, the Hanwha Culture Foundation launched the official website on May 7, activating its ticket reservation system.

The theme of the inaugural exhibition has been decided as ‘The Cubists: Pioneers of a Visual Revolution’. This exhibition will run from June 4 to October 4 and plans to offer an in-depth exploration of the birth and evolution of Cubism through the collection of the French Pompidou Centre. Visitors can make reservations through the official website. Starting with reservations for June, the schedule for the following month will be released sequentially on the 15th of each month.

As this exhibition is the first event to mark the launch of Pompidou Centre Hanwha, it will be organized as a large-scale, single exhibition utilizing the museum’s entire space. The museum plans to provide visitors with a deeply immersive experience by adopting an approach that integrates the operation of Exhibition Halls 1 and 2, starting with a sculpture in the lobby.

The admission price has been set at 28,000 won for adults. Separate discounts will be applied for children, students, and senior visitors, and on-site ticket purchases will also be available after the opening. The foundation added that the ticket operation method and prices may be flexibly adjusted in the future depending on changes in exhibition composition.

To provide an in-depth artistic experience that goes beyond simple viewing, a differentiated membership system will also be operated. The membership is divided into three tiers: Solo, Duo, and Family, with annual fees ranging from 100,000 won to 300,000 won. Members will receive abundant benefits for one year, including unlimited free admission, invitations to exhibition previews, and access to exclusive programs. In particular, early subscribers will enjoy the special privilege of previewing the exhibition before the official opening.

The construction of infrastructure for visitor convenience is also in its final stages. The food, beverage, and shopping area in the basement of the 63 Building is undergoing remodeling and will be newly unveiled in time for the museum’s opening day. In addition to various dining spaces and retail stores, the nearby observatory will also reopen, which is expected to expand the experience for visitors to Yeouido.

An official from the Hanwha Culture Foundation emphasized, “Pompidou Centre Hanwha aims to be a new type of museum model where exhibition, relaxation, and experience are organically connected,” and “starting with the launch of our website, we will prepare so that visitors can experience the value of the museum even before the official opening.”
