Medytox affiliate Numeco announced on April 30 that it has obtained product approval for its botulinum toxin preparation ‘Newlux (export name: Medinox)’ from the Ministry of Health of Ukraine. This is its third entry into Europe, following Georgia and Moldova.
Ukraine is a core Eastern European country where the demand for cosmetic surgery and anti-aging is rapidly increasing, and it is a region with high trust and preference for Korean products due to the spread of K-beauty.
Considering the recent trend of increasing combined toxin and filler procedures in Ukraine, Numeco plans to introduce a sales strategy linking ‘Newlux’ with Medytox’s hyaluronic acid filler ‘Neuramis’. ‘Neuramis’ is a product that has maintained high brand power for about 10 years since its local entry in 2017, and it has recently acquired the MDR CE certification, a new European medical device regulation.
A Numeco official said, “This product approval in Ukraine is an important stepping stone for expanding the Eastern European market,” adding, “We will rapidly expand our global presence through the strengthening of local partnerships and the linkage of product portfolios.”
Meanwhile, ‘Newlux’ is a botulinum toxin preparation that has improved production yield and quality by applying the latest processes, fundamentally blocked the possibility of virus contamination by using only non-animal media during the strain cultivation process, and minimized the denaturation of toxin proteins by reducing the chemical treatment process. Having successfully entered Europe, Latin America, and Asia so far, the plan for ‘Newlux’ is to continuously expand its global market base by officially registering in a total of about 20 countries.
