LG Electronics has been ranked in the top 1 percent of global companies for environmental, social and governance performance for the third consecutive year, according to recent evaluations by major global rating agencies.
The company said Tuesday it was named to the top 1 percent in the Corporate Sustainability Assessment conducted by S&P Global.
The annual assessment evaluated 9,243 companies across 62 industries worldwide.
LG Electronics scored 77 points, the highest among companies in the household durables and leisure equipment sector.
A total of 70 companies achieved top 1 percent status across all industries, with LG Electronics being one of only two South Korean firms included.
Based on the CSA results, the company has also been included in the Dow Jones Best-in-Class World Index for 14 consecutive years, placing it among the top 10 percent of approximately 2,500 global companies leading in sustainability performance.
