LG Chem has launched a new luteal phase support therapy product to meet growing demand in the infertility treatment market.
The company announced Friday that it has released Eutipro Inj. 25mg, a progesterone-based subcutaneous (SC) self-injection therapy used for luteal phase support in women undergoing assisted reproductive technology (ART) procedures.
Progesterone is a hormone that plays a critical role in facilitating embryo implantation in the uterus and maintaining a stable environment during early pregnancy. In ART procedures, progesterone is commonly administered during the luteal phase to supplement hormone levels that may become insufficient during treatment.

LG Chem said Eutipro received marketing approval from the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (MFDS) in February this year based on physicochemical equivalence data compared with an existing approved product containing the same ingredient and formulation.
The company added that the launch of Eutipro is expected to improve supply stability in Korea’s progesterone SC injection market, which has largely depended on a single imported product. LG Chem said it plans to directly oversee product quality and supply management for the new therapy.
“Demand for assisted reproductive therapy drugs continues to rise alongside increasing marriage and childbirth ages,” said Kim Sung-ho, head of LG Chem’s Specialty-Care Division. “We will continue to proactively identify unmet needs in women’s healthcare and provide practical treatment solutions.”
LG Chem also plans to hold a series of symposiums to share clinical applications of progesterone therapy in ART procedures and provide detailed information on Eutipro.
