(Muan = Break News) Reporter Lee Hak-su = Jeollanam-do has prepared a large-scale venue to strengthen the global competitiveness of Korea’s offshore wind industry and establish a regionally-centered supply chain.
Jeonnam Province announced that the ‘2026 Offshore Wind Supply Chain Conference Exhibition,’ the largest offshore wind industry event in Korea, will be held at the Yeosu EXPO Convention Center for two days from the 16th to the 17th.
Co-hosted by the Korea Wind Power Association and Jeonnam Province, and sponsored by the Ministry of Climate, Energy and Environment and the Korea Energy Agency, this event was planned to lay the foundation for Korea to lead the global offshore wind market.
Approximately 2,500 representatives from major global companies and experts are expected to attend this event. With 73 domestic and international companies participating and operating a total of 102 booths, the exhibition will serve as an unprecedented platform for information exchange.
Starting with the opening ceremony on the 16th, the first day of the event, a diverse range of programs, including conferences, business consultations, and seminars, will begin in earnest. In particular, active business-to-business (B2B) consultations aimed at attracting investment and entering supply chains are expected to take place at the 34 business booths set up in the conference hall, providing substantial assistance to local SMEs in pioneering overseas markets and large corporations.
On the 17th, the second day of the event, attention from the industry is focused on the "Policy Meeting with Business Leaders" presided over by the Prime Minister. At this meeting, the Prime Minister plans to directly listen to the challenges faced by the offshore wind power industry and seek effective solutions at the government level.
Jeonnam Province will deliver a keynote speech and participate as a panelist in a discussion on the theme of "Preferential Measures for the Jeonnam Offshore Wind Power Regional Supply Chain." Through this, the province plans to convey its firm commitment to fostering the regional industrial ecosystem to both domestic and international audiences.
In addition, a "Jeollanam-do Joint Pavilion" will be operated, featuring participation from local governments within the province, including Sinan-gun, Jindo-gun, Goheung-gun, and Yeosu-si, as well as the Jeonnam Development Corporation, Mokpo National University, and the Green Energy Research Institute. Through this joint pavilion, the province intends to actively promote the current status and future vision of large-scale offshore wind power projects currently underway in the Jeollanam-do region to global companies.
Admission to the exhibition is free with pre-registration, while an admission fee of 10,000 won applies for on-site registration. For paid programs, the fee is 88,000 won for pre-registration and 110,000 won for on-site registration; payment can be made at the on-site registration desk on the day of the event.
