JVM, an affiliate of Hanmi Science, announced on May 15 that it held a completion ceremony for its new factory for automated pharmacy dispensing systems in the Suzhou Industrial Park, China.

The establishment of this production base is a core task of the global production base expansion strategy announced by Hanmi Group last year. It was pursued with the aim of securing both logistics efficiency and price competitiveness through direct production within China.

The Suzhou factory will exclusively produce JVM’s flagship product, the Automatic Pouch-packaging System (APS). The APS is a key piece of equipment that automates dispensing operations in hospitals and pharmacies, and its demand is rising sharply in the Chinese market, which is currently undergoing an advancement of its medical infrastructure.

The Suzhou Industrial Park, where the production base is located, is a region with a high concentration of advanced industrial infrastructure, offering stable component procurement and an excellent manufacturing environment. JVM plans to develop this site into a production hub that will cover the entire Asian region in the future.

With the completion of this Chinese factory, JVM has finalized its ‘three-pronged strategy’ to expand its business structure, previously centered on North America and Europe, to all of Asia. In North America, the company is targeting the market with its robot-based equipment, ‘COUNTMATE’, while in Europe, it is focusing on expanding its sales network through a local subsidiary.

Investment in research and development for technological advancement is also ongoing. JVM, which allocates 30% of its total workforce to R&D personnel and invests 7% of its sales in research and development, recently enhanced the inspection function of its next-generation robotic dispensing equipment, ‘MENITH’, taking its product competitiveness to the next level. The company is also pursuing business expansion into the healthcare software sector, integrating Artificial Intelligence (AI) and robotics technology.

CEO of JVM, Kim Sang-wook, emphasized, “The China production base will serve as a key hub for strengthening our global supply chain competitiveness and local response capabilities,” adding, “We will solidify our unrivaled position in the global automated dispensing market by advancing our product technology.”
