Daewoong Pharmaceutical said Tuesday it has signed a supply agreement with Puzzle AI for CL Note, an AI-powered integrated medical record solution, marking a full-scale push into the smart hospital market.
Under the agreement, Puzzle AI will handle development and technical support for the solution, while Daewoong Pharmaceutical will oversee distribution, sales, and marketing through its nationwide network of hospitals and clinics.

The partnership combines the technological expertise of a medical AI specialist with Daewoong Pharmaceutical's hospital network, the company said.
Puzzle AI gains a robust supply channel, while Daewoong significantly expands its digital healthcare portfolio and strengthens its leadership in smart hospitals. This deal is expected to accelerate Daewoong’s smart hospital strategy and reinforce its integrated platform.
This collaboration signals a major leap as AI adoption in clinical settings gains momentum.
Government-led initiatives -- such as support programs for AI-based clinical systems at regional responsible medical institutions and reforms to improve residency training environments -- are further driving demand for AI solutions, particularly in automating medical documentation.
Medical record documentation has weighed heavily on healthcare professionals, demanding intensive manual input and limiting patient interaction. AI-powered solutions are transforming this landscape, providing alternatives to longstanding challenges.
CL Note integrates Puzzle AI’s core solutions -- Puzzle Gen, Puzzle ENR, and Smart Call Bell -- into a single platform.
Puzzle Gen uses real-time voice recognition to capture clinicians’ speech and leverages generative AI to summarize and structure clinical content, automatically linking it to electronic medical records (EMRs). It converts complex medical terminology with over 98 percent accuracy and can be used across various clinical environments, including outpatient clinics, wards, operating rooms, and intensive care units.
Puzzle ENR is a voice-recognition-based nursing record solution that enables nurses to create and transmit records in real time via mobile devices, even while on the move. The solution won Germany’s 2024 iF Design Award in the healthcare service design category.
Smart Call Bell allows patients to communicate requests to physicians and nurses via voice from their bedside using smartphones. The system identifies the reasons and urgency of requests in real time, reducing unnecessary nurse movement and enabling prioritized responses in emergencies.
By integrating these solutions, CL Note allows hospitals to manage physician documentation, nursing records, and patient communication on a single platform. This boosts efficiency and convenience, helping healthcare providers save time and reduce administrative tasks.
Puzzle AI currently supplies its AI voice recognition solutions to more than 200 hospitals in Korea, ranking No. 1 in market share. Its technology has been validated at major tertiary hospitals—including Asan Medical Center, Samsung Medical Center, Severance Hospital, Seoul National University Hospital, and The Catholic University of Korea Seoul St. Mary's Hospital. The company has fully commercialized real-time, hands-free documentation across diverse clinical environments.
Overseas, Puzzle AI is conducting joint research with Mayo Clinic Platform and running proof-of-concept (POC) projects and demos with healthcare institutions in the United States, Japan, and Saudi Arabia. Based on these efforts, the company plans to accelerate its global market expansion in the second half of the year.
In June last year, the two companies signed a trilateral memorandum of understanding with SEERS to jointly develop smart hospital solutions, followed by a strategic investment in September to strengthen collaboration. The latest agreement marks the first tangible business outcome of that partnership.
“CL Note aims to reduce the time and effort spent on medical documentation, letting healthcare professionals focus more on patient care,” Kim Yong-sik, CEO of Puzzle AI, said. “With Daewoong Pharmaceutical’s sales network, we will deliver these benefits to more institutions in Korea and globally.”
Daewoong Pharmaceutical Co-CEO Lee Chang-jae said, “CL Note not only automates medical records but helps hospitals achieve meaningful digital transformation. By connecting CL Note with our smart bed monitoring system, ‘thynC,’ we aim to foster an AI-driven smart hospital ecosystem that delivers practical improvements to clinical workflows.”
