Celltrion
Celltrion will strengthen shareholder return policies through a new bonus share issuance and additional stock buybacks, the company said Thursday. It seeks to improve investor sentiment and address concerns over its market valuation
According to a regulatory filing, the biotechnology company plans to issue 0.05 bonus shares for each existing share, equivalent to approximately 10.92 million new shares. Celltrion also announced plans to repurchase around 550,000 shares worth roughly KRW 100 billion (US$66.4 million).
The latest buyback program will increase the company’s total stock repurchases this year to approximately KRW 2 trillion.
Separately, the firm’s largest shareholder, Celltrion Holdings, plans to acquire an additional 100 billion won worth of Celltrion shares, signaling confidence in the company’s long-term business outlook.
Celltrion has previously stated that its shares appear undervalued despite solid financial performance and continued growth in its pharmaceutical and biosimilar businesses. The company has emphasized its commitment to enhancing shareholder value through capital return initiatives and other investor-friendly measures.
